Setting the song beat per minute (BPM)

Setting the BPM is really important in order to place notes in the song with accuracy. First we need to guess the song BPM.

Go to “Tools” and click “BPM Calculator

You should now see a new windows that popped up in left

Click the white box and play the song. When you feel there is a beat, tap the spacebar of your keyboard. Tap until you get an average bpm.

If you feel it's clunky, feel free to check an online BPM analyser on the web.

When you got the BPM value, click the metronome in “Tools” window

3

Now click the “BPM” bar that is located at the start of the highway and set the correct BPM

The notes will be projectiles of the battle. In order to place Notes, click the Note icon in Tools windows on the left.

Erasing Notes

In order to erase notes, click the Erase icon in Tools windows on the left.

Selecting Type of Note

The charting Battle Editor includes 20 types of notes in order to create different types of projectiles. See each note type as a different projectile type.

To change Note type, make sure you have the note brush turned on, and click the dropdown located to the right of the editor.

Placing Sections

In Everhood battles, we use sections to create some special events in a particular moment of the song. In order to create a section, click the 4 green bars located in tools window.

Click on the highway and make sure to name it.

Enabling "Clap" Sounds

Claps sounds are used to make a sound each time you hit a note during the Battle Editor play mode, useful to make sure the notes are well placed. For that just toggle ON/OFF the is box.

Setting Notes "Step"

“Step” are useful to add that extra accuracy needed when placing notes.

Adjust it by increasing or decreasing the step value.

Other tools

Make sure to tweak those values to your need, play with them, no need of explanation
